Is Notelyx really HIPAA compliant?
Yes. Notelyx is designed to meet HIPAA requirements for handling protected health information. All data is encrypted at rest and in transit. Your raw session observations are automatically deleted 24 hours after note generation. We never use your data to train AI models. A Business Associate Agreement (BAA) is available and is accepted during signup.
Can the AI add things I didn't write?
No. Notelyx's AI is strictly instructed to use only what you enter. It will not add diagnoses, infer risk factors, or introduce clinical constructs not present in your observations. What you write is what gets documented — nothing more.
What formats are supported?
Notelyx currently supports SOAP (Subjective, Objective, Assessment, Plan), DAP (Data, Assessment, Plan), and BIRP (Behavior, Intervention, Response, Plan) — the three most common progress note formats used in outpatient therapy.
What happens to my session observations?
Your bullet-point observations are stored only long enough to generate your note. They are automatically and permanently deleted 24 hours after generation. The generated note itself is retained until you delete it.
Can I edit notes after they're generated?
Yes. Every note is fully editable before you sign it. Once you sign a note it is locked — the signed version is permanent and cannot be modified, which is required for defensible clinical documentation.
How do I export notes to my EHR?
You can export any note as a clean PDF with one click. Upload it to your EHR, attach it to a client record, or keep it in your own files. Direct EHR integration is on the roadmap.
What is the Beta plan?
During the beta period, Notelyx is completely free with no note limits and no credit card required. When beta ends, every new account starts with a 14-day free trial before any charge.
